Intriguing Social Media Application

Every wished for a single app that allows to check all your social media sites? Well for those of us using Blackberrys on the Verizon Wireless network (also available on a few other phones and networks), the answer has come in the form of Social Beat.

Social Beat on Verizon Wireless keeps you connected to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Gmail, Google Talk and over 50 news, sports & entertainments feeds.
Get status updates, tweets, posts, emails and IMs, plus the latest from top sites like CNN, ESPN, TMZ, and The Onion.

For those of you using an approved Blackberry device on the Verizon network, Social Beat should have been pushed to your handheld during your last restart. The app is simple to setup and is very easy to navigate. I must say the MyStream feature is great! MyStream post every update on one screen and has the associated site’s icon next to the post.

There are some improvement that can be made, the two biggest ones are the ability to send a “status message” to all your networks straight from the application and for those of us with multiple accounts (work, personal, etc) to log in to all the accounts at once.

Overall I think Social Beat is a worthwhile app that could free up some space on your mobile device.
