Who is BoB

BoB Renock was born in the sweltering heat of central Pennsylvania, where they do not believe in central air.
In the winter months the Renock family relocated to the southwest corner of Indiana to remain, minus a brief stop in southern Illinois. Growing up in the late 70s/early 80s, BoB was raised on Motown, pro wrestling, Saturday morning cartoons and the Commodore 64.

Fast forward to 1995, while attending the University of Evansville, BoB became an early lover of the thing called the "Web". After taking and helping teach the only web design course at the time, BoB saw the world of possibilities and quickly started a web design firm with good friend, Carson Catlin.
Also during this time period, BoB was a fixture in the Evansville music scene. In 1996, after being a winner of an MTV contest involving a certain "metal" band, BoB realized his drum playing abilities were never to be and started down the avenue of promoting events. BoB started helping run various music venues with long-time friend Mat Martin, who had just started a new band called Olive Lucy. The band started to gain momentum and started to work with ex-Evansvillian and Grammy nominee, Marc Chevalier at his Nashville based studio. It was during this period that BoB fell for the recording process. When the Olive Lucy album was complete, BoB and Mat decided to release the album on their own under the name Higher Step Records.

As a new graduate with a BS in Business Administration, BoB started a job at a local bank, mainly to fund the record label and a small recording studio. BoB quickly bored with the bank job and had the opportunity to become in charge of Digital Media / Audio at a local ad agency. While still doing web design and audio recording on the side, BoB used this opportunity to begin learning various graphic design programs and how to shoot and edit video. Tired of the agency’s wicked ways, BoB moved on the Evansville Cable Advertising as the head of Production. Learning even more about shooting, lighting, editing, ad insertion, etc. BoB began using these tools outside of the office.

BoB, now a true multimedia "expert" using the name Zero Echo Media, began acquiring freelance jobs from companies in California, Arizona, Massachusetts and everywhere in between. When Evansville Cable Advertising ceased operations in 2005, BoB and co-worker Michael Alvey were approached by numerous clients about continuing a relationship and in fact acting as a full service agency. BoB, having seen the good and bad of the agency world, was determined that things could be taken to the next level and so Zero Echo Media was expanded.

BoB’s work has netted Addy and Telly awards, a sweet collection of tour laminates, but the great friends made in the world of music, television, and advertising, makes the continuing battle against the "mediocrity mindset" all worth it.
